3D model description

I built this canister to incorporate a submersible pump and filter media (media measurement is 87x87x57 mm) to remove suspended elements from water before transferring it to another aquarium for circulation purposes. That simply consists of a canister divided into 2 parts and a cover. It could also be used as a filter inside a sump tank. Biological will build up and you'll get a cheap effective filtering system. I bought the pump at Amazon. You can look for Pawfly 400 GPH Submersible Water Pump 25W. The pump size is LWH 70x60x90 mm. See all measurement for canister on attached pictures. There is 2 holes on the cover to run the exhaust hose (external diameter of 3/4 inch) and alimentation cord. The cover is retractable for maintenance and media access.

3D printing settings

It can be print on several material but I prefer clear PETG so I can see debris piling up and then have a better idea of when it is time to wash.
Here are all the specific settings I used in Ultimaker Cura:

- Material Polymaker Polylite PETG clear
- Layer Height 0.2
- Line width: 0.4
- wall thickness 2
- Z seam alignment : Sharpest Corner
- Infill Density: 15%
- Constant printing temperature of 240Β°C
- Constant build plate temperature of 90Β°C
- Global Speed 100mm/s
- Travel speed 250 mm/s
- Initial layer speed 30 mm/s
- Retraction enabled for 2mm at 45 mm/s
- Z hop when retracted
- Z hop only over printed parts
- Z hop Height 0.2mm
- No cooling at all
- Support Structure Tree Everywhere
- I used a enclosure as I always do but that was optional indeed.
