3D model description

I designed this model to work using super cheap 1/2 inch PVC tubing. My local big box hardware store sells 1/2 inch PVC pipe for about $2.75 for a 10 foot section. Naturally, being the cheapskate that I am, I use PVC in a lot of projects. This model has the mounting holes spaced just right for standard pegboard using common 1/4 inch diameter drywall anchors. The drywall anchors rest perfectly in the recessed holes (cut about 1/4 inch off the tip of the drywall anchor depending on how far your pegboard is from the wall). You could mount it on any wall if you prefer. Mine is about 2 feet long. It uses 3 sections of pipe however long you choose to cut them. Because it’s 3 pieces, it can hold quite a bit of weight without flexing.

I might expand the design to hold filament rolls if asked. I live in a very humid climate, so I store my filament in ziplock bags with a desiccant packet.

Most people cut their PVC with a hacksaw, but if you like to use PVC for projects then I would recommend getting a PVC cutting tool. Unlike a hacksaw, the cutter slices through PVC up to 2 inches or so like a hot knife through butter! And... with a perfectly clean and straight edge and no PVC shavings.

Or if you need a hacksaw, you can buy one and do it old-skool style here:
