3D model description

Hello, I present to you a mod for a diamond tool head called F1. The mod is addressed to people who use MMU on their machines F1 mod intended to cut off the thickened, pulled out end of the filament when changing the tool.

The mod has been tested for use with the V6 mount, Dragon HF hotend, and Orbiter V2 extruder, but should fit other extruders once the holes are moved. In the future, I will try to adapt the mod to all available mounts of the original mount.

If you like my projects and want to appreciate my work, you can support me by

The parts list is available in the shared file directory.

Installing F1 cutter mod:
The assembly is very simple. Hot inserts should be embedded in the mounting elements (frame and arm). Screw the knife to the arm (M2x4) screw. Insert the BMG wire into the arm and place it in the frame. Screw the protection with M2x10 screws. Insert the spring between the arm and the frame and screw in the screw so that it is visible knife in the hole for the PTFE tube. Insert a piece of PTFE tube 4x3 6-8mm in the outlet hole. It may be tight, but that's how it's supposed to be. I couldn't use metal locks because there was no space for them. The printed ones didn't come out very well and the material got stuck. Now you need to chamfer one of the ends of the 4x2mm PTFE tube so that the filament can slide into it without any problems. No more chamfering, insert it into the frame where you inserted the 4x3 tube. Insert the third piece of tube from the inlet side (extruder). Adjust the knife setting so that it does not interfere with the sliding of the filament. During assembly, cut the tubes to the appropriate length.

Don't forget to print the bumper.
Mount the bumper on the frame in the maximum XY position of your printer frame.

Attention!!!
The mod reduces the working area where the bumper is mounted. Fortunately, a cleaning tower is most often placed in this place.

I probably forgot to write something, so if you have any questions, please contact me.

The model mesh does not look impressive (I worked on an STL file), but it prints correctly.

Update:
More mounts added(not tested!!!)

Please note, I have verified the files. Some of them turned out to be incompatible due to lack of space for the cutter. Namely, these are files with longer hot ends than the standard ones (Volcano). They have been deleted.

26.11.2023
Added sherpa mini arm.

02.12.2013
I am abandoning the project because I am changing the printer to a more modern one. I will add CAD files to the file directory.

3D printing settings

Use the material and settings you used to print the diamond mount. The material must have high impact strength.
