3D model description

I wanted to mount my Arduino to the Spherebot without using zip ties. So here are some mounts to do just that. They use M3x10 bolts and I put a washer inbetween the nut and the mount. There are only 3 mounts because I originally designed this for a Duemilanove and it only has three holes.

Printed in Black ABS on my Prusa Mendel with Heated Bed.

Also included is the DWG I designed them in.

3D printing settings

Print out the mounts and assemble as in the pictures. This should fit 5/16" rod and 8mm.

I always have trouble printing little things like this. A way I found that works great is the set your skirt distance to something like 0.2mm and set your loops to 10ish and layers to 1. This makes a sudo raft and it comes off really easily. If you do this, I would suggest printing each part separatly so a skirt is made around the whole part.

I have included a separate as well as nested STL of the mounts.

The motor shield is from iTead:

It does 8th microstepping, but doesn't have enable pins. So you can't turn the motors on or off via gcode. But it does the job.
