3D printing settings
Impression material: For best results, I suggest using high quality photopolymer resin. Clear or gold resin can be an excellent choice to replicate the authentic look of the Septim.
Layer thickness: set a layer thickness of 0.05 to 0.1 mm for fine details and a smooth surface. This will ensure that Septim engravings and reliefs are accurately reproduced.
Supports: Enable automatic supports in your 3D printing software. Since the model has areas with intricate details, supports will help maintain stability during printing.
Orientation: place the model in an orientation that minimizes the contact areas with the supports on the visible parts of the Septim. This will facilitate removal of the supports and reduce any visible marks on the surface.
Print speed: Use a moderate print speed to ensure accurate printing and avoid deformation of the model. A print speed of around 30-50 mm/s is a good reference.
Resolution: Adjust the resolution of your SLA printer according to the capabilities of your machine. Higher resolution will produce sharper details, but will also increase print time.
Post-processing: After printing, wash the model in isopropyl alcohol to remove any resin residue. Then cure the Septim under a UV light source to fully cure the resin.
Finish: If you want to give the Septim a golden look, you can paint it with high quality gold or silver paint for a shiny, realistic result.
These are the general parameters I would recommend you follow. However, please note that the precise settings may vary depending on the make and model of your SLA 3D printer. I suggest you consult your printer's manual and perform some tests to adjust the parameters according to your specific needs. Good luck with your Septim 3D printing!
