3D model description

I designed these side scuttles for a R53 Cooper S, using a 3D scan of the OEM side scuttles. The fitment is similar to OEM.

These are the Aero style design (V2). The mesh in this one is scaled down to 50% of the mesh used in areo grilles. In the future I want to design multiple different styles. I only added the file for the right side, if you want to print the left side, just mirror the model in your slicer software.

After printing they are almost ready to install. You'll need to print the pin that hold the front of the scuttle in place. After printing use a lighter to slightly melt the pin (the pins are oversized). Then push the pin in the hole on the back of the scuttle. If done right, the pin should now be locked into place. You can also use glue for extra strength.

Don't use PLA, but use PETG, ABS or some other filament that's UV resistant.

I'd recommend using a tiny amount of bodyfiller to ensure you don't see any printing layers through the paint.

3D printing settings

For the best result possible I recommend using:

Cura Software

0.4 Nozzle
0.12 Layer height
50% Infill
0.8 Wall thickness
