3D model description

one problem encountered by all octavia 4 users is that the induction charger heats up the phone too much, causing it to lock up and stop charging. To solve this problem, the phone needs to be cooled down, and the air vent is not far away, but skoda has not provided for air to flow down to the charging area.

With this model that I modelled in freecad, the air is sent back to the induction charger underneath, the phone stays cool and charges without a problem.

Here I've modeled the adapter to fit over the passenger vent, leaving the driver vent free.

I'm giving away the freecad files that will allow you to modify the model to your liking and adapt it if you wish.

This model is tested and effective, test on a skoda octavia model IV ....

3D printing settings

I printed my model on PETG which makes the model very strong ... a density of 75% gives a very very strong adapter, but you can start your tests with 20% filling, it still works.

I used CURA v5.4 on an ender 5 plus for my model and you ABSOLUTELY have to activate the supports. They are quite difficult to remove in "normal" bracket mode, but you can try the "tree" mode bracket (see photo) which is surely easier to remove.

I took a 1.0 nozzle which is more than enough to minimize printing time, no need to take 0.4 ....

For the direction in which the model is laid, look at the photos, it has to stand up ...

There are 3 versions: the 1.0 differs from the 2.0 just because the 2.0 has longer mounting lugs and is therefore a little more stable ...

The v3.0 adds the name "skoda" as decoration on the exterior of the model.

enjoy this essential accessory for your octavia 4!!!
