It's almost Halloween, but we're not done modeling our favorite Classic Horror Movie Silhouettes for 3D Printing! In this latest pack, we've got some extra creepy STL files for you, straight out of vintage black and white film reels!
We start with a pair of timeless creators who represent the foundation of classic thrillers:
- The Father of Horror, Vincent Price
- The Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock
Next up are two iconic images from timeless cult-classic horror film movie posters.
- The Exorcist - Movie Poster Silhouette
- Return of the Living Dead - Title Tombstone
These are negative space silhouettes, so all you're printing is the black outline. They really pop against a white (or light-colored) background! If you have dark walls, you can print them in a light color filament instead.

3D Printing With or Without Holes for Hanging
Three of the four STL files come in two versions - one standard (i.e. The Exorcist.stl, and one "wHangers" (i.e. The Exorcist (wHangers).stl. Vincent Price does not have a wHangers option, because there is so much negative space, it isn't necessary.
The wHangers editions have two half ovals that you can either tie a string across to hang from, or align directly over two nail heads. They also have two small pegs towards the bottom of the print to space it evenly from the wall, enhancing the 3D effect. See images above for pictorial description.
Note that the wHanger editions are inverted to print upside down, so that the hangers and pegs print upwards. Make sure to print the bottom layer slowly to get a good clean surface layer, since this will be the face of your 3D print.
If you plan to hang these with sticky tak or puddy, you won't need the hangers. However, if your printer has a more visually appealing bottom surface layer, as is often the case with Textured PEI plates and glass plates that don't require glue, you may wish to print the silhouettes upside down anyway. to do so, simply rotate the Y-axis 180 degrees before slicing.
Dimensions & Resizing
These horror wall art pieces have been modeled to fit on a 256x256 print bed, such as the Bambu Labs P1P, P1S, and X1c. You're welcome to scale any of them larger or smaller. If you do, please leave the Z at 100%. It's plenty strong at this thickness and does not need to be increased, while anything smaller could become too flimsy.
At 100% scale, the STL files measure:
Alfred Hitchcock, The Birds Silhouette
X = 15.5cm / 6.1in
Y = 24.0cm / 9.4in
Z = 0.15cm / 0.06in
Vincent Price Silhouette

Y = 24.0cm / 9.4in
