3D model description

This model is designed with two main parts, the ice shard and the katana itself.

The katana is cut into 7 parts to fit in a printer with a platform size of 200mm x 200mm x 200mm. Each part is then sliced in half for a flat face that can easily lay on the printing bed, resulting in 14 pieces.

The ice shard, represented with "acc" in the later paragraph is designed to print using a translucent resin using an SLA printer. However, if you do not have access to an SLA printer, you can print using an FDM too but with extra care on small components such as acc 4 and acc 5.

There are pictures in the preview section with parts and pieces labeled to their file names in the preview section which you can refer to.

I make two versions for acc 2, the alternate version is the version without the handguard. You can print the handguard and acc2 alt, separately if you have a smaller resin printer.

However, it is quite tricky to install these two parts together, you will need to insert acc2 alt with a specific angle and rotate on the way into the handguard, the cutout on the bottom part of acc2 alt will touch the handguard. If it is too complicated, you can print the standard version using a printing service that has a larger printer.

There are cut-outs made on the katana to install the acc. The easiest procedure is crafting the katana by parts, and then installing the acc. If you are not confident with your katana print, you can print half of it and do a trial install to make sure it fits and do sanding on the edge or face if necessary.

As usual, tunnels with 5mm and 10mm diameters are punched on the katana for alignment and bone installation purposes. You can use anything with similar dimensions for these purposes or print the "peg" files, cylinders with diameters of 4.5mm and 9.5mm.

Once pieces a and b are printed, glue them back to back to form a part. Repeat the same for the other pairs and join all the parts afterward.

For scaling, please use the same scale for all the pieces and parts.

Cheers and Happy Printing!
