3D model description

I designed this Katana for a Inosuke Cosplay this year. I know that there are already models for these katanas, but searching on the internet i didn't find anything that satisfied what I had in mind. So, I designed them myself!

What I wanted was a model with the space for a 5mm rod (we don't want the fear of breaking our katanas during the day, do we?), while keeping the shape slightly curved (no one likes a straight katana). Of course you need a ''slightly bendable'' rod for this to work.

Also, printing the pieces horizontally as I did (see pictures) conferes to every piece more mechanical strength compared to the ''more common'' vertical printing. All pieces fit the buildplate of a Ender 3 V2, so it should be ok with most of 3D printers.

I used two component epoxy glue to stick the pieces together after alignment using the rod. After that, you just ''sandwich'' the two pieces of the handle on the final part on ''blade1''. With a bit of post-processing and paint, I got my Katanas!

I'm really happy both with the 3D model and the final result, I hope you'll be too!

3D printing settings

Designed for FDM printers
Printed on an Ender 3 V2.
I suggest to print pieces horizontally and to use tree supports.
