3D model description

Just a couple of simple 2020 or 2040 supports.

I have a couple designs in work that require mounting 2020 extruded aluminum to the walls of an enclosure and needed to make some type of brackets to mount them. I considered some box style or angled brackets, but I decided on a design that could be universal enough that it would work with both 2020 and 2040 and mount either to a base or a wall. I am planning to use this design to mount my benbox style laser engraver to a wooden base. With this, you could also get rid of the front and rear rails and use less extrusion.

Included are two models. One is nice and beefy and took about 5 hours to print two of them at 60% infill. The other is an attempt to make a version that takes less time, but has as much rigidity. This one takes about 3.5 hours to print two at 60% infill.

The slim version is not optimized for mounting to a wall (depending on the weight of your machine) but is intended for mounting the profiles to a base.

EDIT: Had the time to install them on my laser engraver in order to show an in-use picture. Added before and after shots. I added L-brackets to the frame shortly after building the engraver. I swapped in longer screws and mounted my new brackets using the L-bracket. I was then able to take off the acrylic feet that were holding the engraver up.

EDIT: Added hanging brackets model to the download. Base sits flush and spacer is a separate piece to accommodate different sizes. Included spacer model is 10mm.
