3D model description

3D model of the so called "three cylinder" diesel - electric submarine of the Dolfijn / Potvis class.

The Potvis-klasse where in service from 1965 till 1992 by the Dutch Navy.

The class contained 4 ships :

HrMs Dolfijn
HrMs Zeehond
HrMs Potvis
HrMs Tonijn

The design was made in the late 50's and reletavely unique because of the use of a 3 cilinder presure hull. The intention was to place te more heavy parts (engine and accu's etc) in the 2 lower cilinders en the less heavy parts in the 1 top cilinder. This should reduce the need for ballast and use that weight to strenghten te pressure hull.

Model specs:

Detailed model designed to make a RC controlled submarine.

Length: 159cm

Width: 15,6 cm

-Hull split in 2 parts with locking system, made for 100mm WTC
2 types of torpedo tubes (closed or open) with model mk37 torpedo.
-Seperate deck parts. (eventually to print with Resin printer)
-Prepared dive rudders incl. back dive rudder servo lever.
-Prepared front dive rudder mount.

Note: The technical parts (WTC etc) are not included in the file set.

This model is print ready, but its possible it wil be upgraded in coming period. A 1/60 version of this model will be uploaded soon.

Any rc modelling experience is preferred for the technical diving part.
