3D model description
A small 3D printable evaporative cooler.
You can fill the water tray with around one liter of water if you dont use the ice tray and around 300 mililiters if using the ice tray.
Do not purchase if your printer's bed size is smaller then a PRUSA MK3S+, as all parts have been designed to fit it's bed and make full use of it's size.
Please thouroghly read the instructions provided before you start printing anything.
Unit is around 9.5 inches tall by 7.5 inches wide by 8.25 inches deep. It also provides not just vertical control of airflow but also horizontal.
Should be compatible with all 2-3 pin PC fans between 140-120mm with thickness of between 15-25mm.
Takes around 2kg (1,724g) of filament. Will also take around 6 days of printing for all the parts if using a 140mm PC fan, and about 50g more material and 4 more hours of print time if using a 120mm fan.
I used an Arctic P14 fan driven by a generic 12v 0.3 amp power supply.
The All Parts files includ the standard water curtain but not he high density (HD). THe HS watercurtian file is included as an additional optonal .3mf download.
It provides about 1°F cooling with the standard water curtain and about 2°F cooling with the ice tray inserted in the unit with it as measured with a temperature monitor placed directly in front vs one set by it's side about a foot away.
The high density (HD) water curtain provides around 2°F cooling without the ice tray and around 3-4°F with it as measured with a temperature monitor placed directly in front vs one set by it's side about a foot away. (Recommended for fans with high static pressure (2.4mm H2O or more) only).
3D printing settings
All Parts have been print tested in Printbed PLA @0.20mm layer height.
Some small amount of support material may be required depending on printer, and brims are recommended on all large footprint parts. Instructions included in .pdf file for download.
Hilbert curve is used for the bottom layer of all parts to help reduce warping.
I lubricated all points of motion with a small amount of food grade mineral oil.
the ice trays have been tested and survved over 20 cycles in and out of the freezer with little issue.
Please ensure your bed is leveled and as flat as possible before printing or you may experience slight deformations in your parts.
