3D model description

Here's a design for a simple shelf with two compartments designed to hold salt and pepper shakers (or other small bottles or spice containers). The compartment dimensions are 58mm X 44MM and fit most small-medium sized salt and pepper shakers.

There are two models for the shelf. One is plain and does not have a decorative faceplate. The other has holes to mount a faceplate that is designed to change based on the seasons/holidays. I designed this for a specific set of holiday shakers so there's just a Christmas faceplate included for now but I'll be adding more later. Just shoot me a message if there's anything in particular you want added. I designed it to be as easy as possible to create new ones so it should be quick.

If you are printing the version with the faceplate, you'll also need to print the peg models (identical but numbered as a reminded that you will need 3 of them.)

3D printing settings

I used Overture PLA for the test print. See attached pictures for ideal printing orientation.

This should print without supports. There's some overhang in the peg holes but it's not visible after assembly so there shouldn't be any issues if some cleanup is needed but keep an eye on it while printing to make sure there's no warping around the holes. Print with supports on the peg holes if your printer has issues with it.

The pegs will need to be lightly sanded .

The text on the faceplate sticks out 5mm as-designed. Just stop the print early on the faceplate if that is too much and you are happy with a shorter text depth.
