3D model description

Portable Stand for people with full-scale Mouse Droids.

These droids tend to be a little heavy, and long term storage can cause the wheels to get indented from the weight. Previously I was just using a couple pieces of scrap wood, but that doesn’t travel well and would look terrible if I brought it to an event... and it doesn’t help if I needed to flip the top upside down. (without breaking the top greeblies!)

I sized it to fit between the mounting screws on the bottom of my droid, AND sized to be able to fit between the greeblie racks on top, so I can flip the mouse upside down when needed. Note that if your top greeblies aren’t spaced as far apart as mine are (it’s 150mm long, minimum, and a little wider for extra stability since the sides aren’t size limited), anyone using this may need to scale it. Not sure how that would affect the puzzle joints, though, so test print a few layers to check sizing before committing!

The top design constraints ended up with not quite enough support on the bottom OR the top, so I designed extensions the attach easily, and remove easily, and give me the best of both worlds.

It’s small enough to put inside of the mouse, so I always have it with me, and light enough that it doesn’t weigh things down too much. The shape and cutouts save both weight and filament. (I used PETG so it’s a bit more temperature resistant, since it’ll be spending a lot of time in a hot SoCal garage)

I need to figure out the best way to keep it slung inside while at events, still (maybe Velcro or elastic bungee?), but overall I’m really happy with how it worked out.
