3D model description

This design started out as a practice drawing to help me improve my working knowledge of Solidworks, but it came out looking OK so I thought I would throw it on here if anyone wants it. These pods were very common and fitted to everything from MiG-21s to Mi-8 and Mi-24 Gunships. in recent years they have been fitted on vehicles to make a "DIY Katyusha" and have been seen on Toyota Landcruisers and light trucks in the Middle East to more recently being fitted to 9K35 Strela-10 (a surface to air missile system on the MT-LB tracked chassis) by Ukraine in their war with Russia.

There are 3 versions...

1/ The version with a cut out in the rear cover usually used on helicopter gunships
2/ The version with the full cone on the rear usually used on fixed wing aircraft
3/ The version with the rear cover removed usually used on ground vehicles

3D printing settings

I printed these on an Anycubic Mono X 6Ks at a layer height of 0.01mm
