This is a mock-up model of the R4M air-to-ground missile of the German Luftwaffe from the 2nd World War.

The R4M rocket (rocket, 4 kilogram, mine head), nicknamed Orkan because of its characteristic smoke plume, was an anti-aircraft missile (FFAR). It was developed by DWM/Lübeck for the Luftwaffe during the Second World War and was in service from 1944 to 1945. It was used on Messerschmitt Me 262 and Focke Wulf Fw 190.

This model can be built in two different versions:

  1. as a transparent cutaway model

  2. with normal body tube

Materials required:

1 piece of aluminum tube or transparent acrylic tube (optional) with an outer diameter of 55 mm and a length of 400 mm.

Steel wire 0.8 mm diameter
