Reversing spinning top magically turns to the other side

The inverted spinning top for everyone to print and marvel at themselves.

This wondrous spinning top simply turns upside down when spinning.

It's all about physics here.

The combination of rotation, surface friction and the resulting shift in the center of gravity,

the spinning top stands on its handle and just keeps spinning until it slows down again and spins back.

Physicists from all over the world have already racked their brains as to why the spinning top turns.

Try it out for yourself and come up with your own theories as to why it does what it does.

After many attempts to create a printable version, I have now prepared 2 variants for you.

The 2-part version has a very special plug-in connection, it is very stable and takes up very little space.

Depending on what is better for you to print:

1x the 2-piece version, consisting of ball and handle

1x the complete spinning top, here you should definitely work with a support structure.

To tune the gyro, you can polish the surfaces, then the inverted gyro will rotate even longer.

You can give free rein to your creativity, it will be particularly interesting if it is printed in different colors.

A great pastime for the whole family.

We often have a competition where we want to get it as close as possible to a predetermined point.

Filling for both variants always: 100%

Layer height: from 0.08 - 0.2

Print speed: 50 - 200 mm/s

No supports required for the 2-piece version

A brim of at least 5 mm is advisable for the handle, 10 mm is better
