3D model description

I’m a Mercedes Benz car owner.

Founding sometimes my car rear trunk open, I decided to make some investigations with the factory. They answered me this is a known problem and should happen when the key is in your pocket with other stuff like for example wallet, wireless earphones or any other object that should accidentally press the buttons when moving.

This 3D model was made starting from a 3D scan of my Mercedes Benz Key. After scan and post production, it was tuned to perfectly snap on the key avoiding any accidental pressure of general open or rear trunk open button of the car (center and down button).

The upper button (close button) is also partially covered from the model, but it can be pressed without removing it.

Taking off the cover from the key is quietly simple also with just one hand.

After applying the cover on my car key, I never experienced again the issue.

This is already a second version of this item. Still optimizing it, already working very good. Ask me for any custom logo on it with additional cost.

Hope it should be useful also for you!

Printable by FDM or SLA.

3D printing settings

I printed mine using transparent HS-Pla on FLSUN V400.

Cura Slicer
Layer 0.2
Low speed, 100mm/s max
Normal layer temp : 210Β°
Bed temp : 65Β°

My suggestion is to almost vertically place the model on the bed, with brim and zigzag supports just on the first part (Cura will automatically do it). The bigger part of the cover on the down direction (bed direction).

Dont use vase mode. I had bed results with it.
