3D model description

A client made the request for this hood ornament. It is based off the classic Nash Rambler or Metropolitan hood ornament, but was for a Power Wheels type replica toy car. Thus, it is much smaller than the original (design specification was to fit within 4x4x2 inches). The client was using a popsicle stick on her mockup Sculpey so the base on this is designed around a 93 mm popsicle stick.

This was originally modeled in FreeCAD and then I imported it into Meshmixer to perform the smoothing and further sculpting to get it to look more organic.

3D printing settings

I printed this standing up on the tip of the wing with the feet towards the top with tree supports (if possible you may want to add a blocker under her chin and the insides of the arms, it was a pain to remove the supports from these areas). I used a 12 mm brim, 0.2 mm layer height, 75% gyroid infill and PETG filament. I would definitely not use PLA if you are going to expose this to the summer heat.
