Here's a small box with a useful interior volume of 50x40x40 mm, enough to store lots of SD cards and other little secrets!

This sliding box features a lock that makes it impossible to open.

CONSTRUCTION :

In addition to the STL files to be printed, here are the necessary supplies:

  • a 10 mm-diameter, 2 mm-thick neodymium magnet (found on amazon).

  • a coin 21 mm in diameter and 1.70 mm thick (this is a 5-cent Euro coin, but any coin or puck with these dimensions or a LITTLE LESS will do - it just has to be attracted to the magnet!)

ASSEMBLY :

  • Superglue the magnet into the hole on the lid (pay attention to the direction of the magnet: it should attract the coin, not repel it!).

  • Glue the magnet cover on top.

THE DECOR :

This Lotus decor is made up of 3 elements, to be assembled by gluing onto a piece of 1.7 mm diameter filament from your 3D printer.

Once glued, use a hair dryer to shape the petals and stamens.

Next, glue the Lotus to the box lid, inserting its axis into the hole provided.

My kit contains several decors that can replace this Lotus, so it's up to you to choose!

USE :

  • Insert the piece (or washer) into the slot in the base.

  • Slide the lid to close the box.

  • Place the box upside down, and the coin will stick to the magnet on the lid: this makes the box impossible to open without the trick below:

To unlock :

Knock the box on the table (or on your thigh!), the coin will detach from the magnet and fall to the bottom of the base: the box can be opened (see explanatory photos).
