3D model description

Adapter for use with electronic thermostatic heads with M30x1,.5 thread.
Fits Danfoss RTD-N valves. With this adapter, an electronic thermostatic head can be mounted on the RTD-N.
Most of the adapters available on 3D design websites unfortunately only fit partially. I am already explaining what this means. After fitting other adapters, the head presses too hard on the stem in the heating control valve. This can damage the valve and, secondly, when the head unscrews to 100%, there is play on the thread and this causes the electronic thermostatic head to drop. You then have to tighten the adaptor more but then the first problem arises again, which is a valve that is too tight. Another problem is that if you tighten the adapter tight, the thermostatic head will only start to heat from 15-20% of the valve opening.... this misses the point, as the head's internal logic then thinks that it is not heating enough and starts to turn the heating up even more, causing heat loss. I adjusted my adaptor at the servo so that the head was already warming at 1% valve opening and so that it was not loose at 100% unscrewing. This was successfully achieved. I printed a dozen adapters, differing in length by 0.5mm. I tested them with GTZ04/TS0601 and Bosch Thermostat II heads on a Danfoss RTD-N valve. After selecting the correct length, I made the final model and print. The head is firmly tightened even when the valve is fully open, it works from 1% opening.
