3D model description

After I made stubs to fit the Bontrager Blendr mounting system on my Trek 7.3 FX bicycle, I started feeling bad that my husband's bike (Trek 8.3 DS) didn't have the nifty built-in system, so I built a mount for his bicycle to fit the stubs I had made (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1502511).

I can't guarantee this will fit the actual brand-name stubs, but it does fit the stubs I designed to fit the brand-name mount on my own bicycle, so I don't see why it wouldn't.

UPDATE 4/25/16:

I wasn't happy with my original design, so I've completely redone the connection between the bracket and collar to make it sturdier, using a GoPro-type 2-to-3 tab connecting system. It prints in 3 parts: the "collar" is the part that fits around the bike frame (sized for my husband's Trek 8.3 DS), and since I haven't learned to do the Customizer thing, you'll have to pull that into your favorite 3D modeling program to change it to whatever will fit your bike.

The bracket prints in two pieces, upper and lower, that are glued together using ABS glue. The assembled bracket mounts to the collar using an M3 bolt and nut.

The finished mount is much more solid than before. I'm planning to modify the bracket to print in one piece instead of two, but I haven't gotten around to it just yet.

I'm including the two variations of my stub design here, so you can download the whole system at once. They're also available separately at the URL listed above. Both have slots to accommodate a velcro strip. The curved one is meant for mounting a flashlight -- I like to coat the curved surface with the rubber stuff you can buy to dip tool handles in, for a better grip. The flat one can be ABS-glued to a phone case, or whatever else you want to print to attach to it.
