Among the tasks undertaken by the Rasalhague Dominion upon its founding in 3060 was a renovation and upgrade of their inner sphere defense materiel. This included the augmentation of their old Kuritan Panther light mechs. Ragnar Magnusson had quite a bit of influence on how this would occur.

As a Rasalhague that understood how both the spheroids and clans fought, Magnusson pushed for a full IIC conversion of the Panther, but using stealth armor to give more credence to the mech's surname as a hunter.

The Panther IIC excels as a sniper as well as an ambusher. A clan ERPPC replaces the venerable Lord's Light particle cannon on the original 9R. Also in reflection to the 9R are the Panther's SRM backup- twin streak SRM-4s are mounted in the left and right torsos, giving the mech a vicious short range punch for ambushes and clinches. Ten clan double heat sinks are adequate, but judicious discipline is needed to prevent overheating. Especially when the ferocious ERPPC is fired while the stealth armor is active.

In a departure from both the original model and traditional clan zellbringen warfare is the six and a half tons of ECM-powered stealth armor. Though the Ghost Bear's Khan ultimately held the last word, the defeat at Tukayyid was still fresh in the minds of the leaders of the Ghost Bear touman. As such, the stealth armor was allowed for the project.

The result was a potent- if expensive little marksman.
