3D model description

During the Jihad, many of Solaris 7’s manufacturing firms suffered catastrophic losses, with some having the misfortune to not survive at all. One of the former was Blue Shot Weapons, a Lyran-based company that had been in operation since the waning years of the Star League. The damage done during the Word of Blake’s incursion was so bad that for years after, they were only able to produce basic exoskeletons for Class One tournaments.

Near the turn of the century however, they had finally regained enough capacity to begin manufacturing BattleMechs once again and thanks to a new project from the LCAF, they were able to do just that. Millions of dollars went into the design of the Cryptid, Blue Shot’s first post-Jihad BattleMech. It utilized expensive and experimental equipment and the end result was a 30 ton machine that cost nearly 20 million C-Bills to produce.

Powered by a 240 XXL engine, the speedy little 30 ton Crypid's long range armament consists of a light PPC and ATM-3. The missile launcher has three tons of ammunition to draw from: standerd, high explosive, and extended range.

A pair of clan-built extended range small lasers and four extended range micro lasers round out the mech's short range firepower. Six and a half tons of reactive armor clad the mech, emphasizing ballistic weapon protection over energy.
