3D model description
This project contains two sets of storage boxes intended to supplement, or completely replace, the storage system provided in the excellent board game Blood on the Clocktower by The Pandemonium Institute. The goal is to provide a storage system that will support custom printings for the unreleased experimental roles,
SET 1: ADDING STORAGE FOR NEW EXPERIMENTAL TOKENS TO THE BASE GAME
The first set (two boxes and lids) is intended to add two boxes and lids that fit neatly into the empty space within the base game box:
- The first box can store up to 90 role tokens of the base size and thickness (44mm diameter, 1.2mm thick) used in the original game. I do not have the set of Kickstarter role tokens that TPI provided to con-goers this year, but tests with the role tokens provided in the base game seem to bear out this estimate. This is enough space to store all the known experimental roles available as of Dec 6 2023 (up to and including the Hatter, with appropriate token duplicates for Farmer, Legion, and Riot).
- The second box can hold up to 75 reminder tokens (26mm diameter, 1.2mm thick), which again is enough to store reminders for all experimental roles known as of Dec 6 2023 (including a ridiculous number of Amnesiac reminder tokens). It also has space to store shroud tokens, vote tokens, binder clips, reminder cards, and other components as desired. In the picture, I've added a whiteboard pen and some felt-backed whiteboard discs that I use to track player names.
- I recommend slicing the lids for this set with zero top/bottom layers and 20% infill, which saves filament and gives you the neat see-through effect.
SET 2: REPLACING THE BASE GAME BOXES WITH VERTICAL TOKEN STORAGE
The second set (two boxes, lids, token dividers, and decorative lid plates that can be attached to the token boxes) are intended to be used to replace the existing boxes for people who want boxes to be sorted by role type instead of by set:
- The first box is for storing role tokens and reminder tokens. Each of these boxes should store roughly 60 role tokens (44mm diameter) and 60 reminder tokens (26mm diameter), or fewer if you use the dividers to split up the tokens by set, subtype, or anything else. There's a single generic lid that can be used as-is, or if you want to be fancy, there's a set of lid plates that can be printed separately and then affixed to the box top. (For the pictures, I had the slicer set to pause for a filament change on the decorative parts, which is why I split these plates out -- attaching them to the box tops meant either slicing the decorations at the bottom of the model (which didn't produce good results for me) or at the top of the model (which created a ton of wasted time/filament for adding supports).
- The second box is for storing miscellaneous game components like shroud tokens, reminder tokens, vote tokens, etc. etc. It's similar to the second box in the first set, but without the need for storing any reminder tokens.
If you go with the second set, you should be able to fix six boxes comfortably in the base game box, with just enough room to store one of the base boxes. Note that this will cause some lid lift if you continue to store all the manuals and reference sheets in the game box, as the new boxes are about 15mm higher than the base boxes (required to accommodate the role tokens being stored vertically instead of in flat stacks).
