3D model description

When I installed my MultiMaterial upgrade for the Original Prusa i3 MK2S printer, I accidentally broke the casing for the extruder switch PCB.

The original case can be found here:
https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/tree/Multi-Material-Upgrade/Printed-Parts/stl

However, the original is not deep enough (in my opinion) so that squeezing all cables in is a pain and caused my original case to break in the first place. Okay, this was my fault because I used too much force. Nevertheless, a design should not provoke you to do so, right?

My case is still compatible with the original cover plate. However, I have also recreated this cover as well, mainly because of two reasons.

  1. To provide a complete set! :-)
  2. Because my case is over 10 mm deeper and has wider and longer slots/holes for the cables.

I made the case deeper because of the reasons mentioned above, which makes the storage of the very long stepper cables easier.

The wider and longer slots make cable routing easier. However, with the original cover plate, you will have large unused areas of the slots/holes after mounting. My cover plate also provides covers for these unused spaces.

I hope my design is useful for some of you.
