3D model description

We needed to take some better product shots and decided we should have a go at building a micro adjustable (almost) fully 3D printed tripod that is durable enough to stand up to real life use. We love using it! So we decided to release this for free in time to build during the holiday period. We think it would make a great gift for any 3d print enthusiast or budding photographer.

This project evolved into an educational build project that highlights the cool techniques within 3D printing such as print in place (for the telescopic legs), the rack and pinion mechanism for getting those millimeter by millimeter adjustments when setting up your camera and the use of custom supports to save material.

All components are designed to fit within a 200mm x 200mm x 200mm build volume.

To complete this build you will need only: X6 4mm [D] x 16mm [L] countersunk wood screws, super glue and 585gs of your favorite filament

Build instructions have been included in this build to ensure a fun, easy and simple build process.

This tripod has been tested to carry a load of 3KG for over 24 hrs and stands 85cm tall when fully extended.

You could also scale this design up to suit your purposes as long as you account for the ratios of the scale such as the screw size and custom support material.

Printed in white + satin salmon PLA with a 0.4mm nozzle @ 0.25mm layer height.
