3D model description

"Grizla" Battle Tank (also known as the Broad Bear) of the Hot-Rod Marauders For One Page Rule (OPR)

This Combat tank is inspired by hotrods made of early pickup trucks, And i am super proud that i managed to integrate pop-up headlights in one of the trim option that you can actually assemble so it can be moved open or closed, this alone might be cooler then the guns i equiped it with.

Customizable

  • 2 main weapon options (Bunker Buster Cannon and Fractal Gathling Dakkaroussel)
  • 2 melee weapons options (full plow or split plow with infantry grinder underneat)
  • 2 turret mount (many modular turret options)
  • Optional front end with extra front facing gun mount
  • different trim option for style, (ONE WITH MOVABLE POP-UP HEADLIGHTS!!!!!!) -Optionnal side mounted sponson magnetized to be fielded with or without) and extra optionnal side turret mounts on the sponson themselves

NOTE 1:

For One Page Rule, this is a vehicle that needs to go through the point calculator as a custom unit. it was originally designed for 1 main gun, 2 secondary and a melee, but with the custom option i allow for more guns with an optional pair of sponsons and an optional tertiary pair of turrets, also someone may choose to put in the front with gun mount even without loosing a turret to the grinder blower, for a theoretical total of 1 main gun, 1 melee, and 7 secondary I STRONGLY SUGGEST USING MAGNETS! because this would make for a kick ass display piece, but way be too expensive, point wise, to be fielded in a game.

NOTE 2:

some parts have "FIXED" versions of the files, i leave the original in, in case someone wants to edit them. (Its easier when the 3d model is still made of elements) but the "FIXED" ones are better for printing

Note 3:
The folders logic is as follows;

-"Commun" contains parts every tank kit needs

-"Main weapon" include 2 sub folder with the parts of the 2 main weapon option (the Goblin mechanic goes at the back of the cannon barrel as an easter egg) the rear segment of the body is in those folders as the only changes on this section is in relation to how the main weapons are mounted

-"Side Body Option" include 2 options for the front and read side part of the body (front with round headlamps or articulated pop-up headlight and their extra parts, needs some magnets to work. And 2 rear part option with 2 or 3 bulb tail-lamps)

-"Front options" include 2 sets, prepared in the way I designed them to be used (you are free to disregard my recommendations) Tanks where ORIGINALLY designed for 1 Main gun, 2 secondary guns and a front melee weapon, using the option with the full plow, there is no room for enemies to reach under the tank and both turret placements are free for small turrets. However if you want the infantry grinder (inspired by snow blowers) you are meant to use the split plow to leave a gap in the front, also, you are meant to make a blower turret (snow blower output chute thing) for the gore to be spat out from, this takes one of the turret mount, so to avoid loosing one of your guns, you get alternative front ends with a front facing gun placement. (Also the grinder comes with parts for an articulated under-body plow)

-"Modular Turret" (sub-folder inside common) contain a few unique turret options and modular parts for custom ones (every part can be magnetized for after-the-fact loadout customizations) and a hatch topper to hide turret mounts if you want less guns (for some reason) possible guns are: cannon, flame thrower, gathling gun, heavy machine gun or custom rail-gun.

ALSO there are optional parts for sponsons (magnetized under the side-skirt to keep the side smooth when they are not in play) There is a smooth armor topper part to magnetize on top for a clean look or you can take it off and use the included tertiary set of turret mounts for EVEN MORE GUNS!! the gun options for the sponsons themselves are the same has the turrets but shorter as it would not look right if they were full lenght.

Finally;
-"Alt" contains a few parts i did early in the project but didn't like enough (still didn't want to delete them)

NOTE 4:
for assembly:

-the bunker buster cannon is articulated, forcing some cushion foam or a spring behind the 2 pins before putting it in place will make it click in a hinge-like fashion.

-the fractal gathling dakkaroussel needs to be pinned with metal rods, otherwise it wont hold, i did 2 pins between the weapon assembly and each of the side pylons at the contacts points and another 2 between the base of each pylons and the side body of the tank where they sit, for a total of 8 pins (the pylons sit on the side body, in the back corner of the center segment (see pictures). They do NOT sit on the roof of the "back middle" part)

-be VERY CAREFUL while assembling the pop-up, it is very tricky not to clue parts that need to stay moving, also after the assembly, be VERY CAREFUL moving them as there is no way to access them again to fix anything if it breaks.

LORE

For those wondering why my ork army isn't equipped with junk, here is the story i made for them:

The Hot-Rod Marrauders Orks are a faction that is strongly influenced by their unlikely interactions with humans, it all started long ago:

The Human planet of P-16-X A.1 was a remote human world used as a huge prison colony because it was so far and unpractical to get to. For the same reason, it was made self-sufficient with multiple cities and its own economy. After a series of unfortunate event, Humanity would lose that world:

First a major undetected glitch would erase multiple worlds from any records, since most have regular contacts with other planet, they would soon be rediscovered, not P-16-X A.1

After a massive rebellion, the prisoners overwhelmed the local forces and uploaded a virus to destroy orbital communications with the rest of human space (This was meant to be temporary but with the world deleted from all records, it became permanent).

In the middle of this rebellion, a group of Orks Marrauders dropped of hyper space and landed to invade and pillage, steamrolling the already overwhelmed local forces and killing the escaped convicts.

The civilians, having nothing to loose, plead for their life and safety. Lucky for them, the Governor in charge noticed the Orks and their leader Urok Nicrakka were infatuated with the cars of the locals. It so happens that the population had a very important car culture of Hot-Rods and custom vehicles. The Governor conviced the invadors that those would not do good war machines, they were too fragile (kicking a dent in a panel with a small kick), but the humans could make them some strong one just like them, but ready for war. Only not as slaves, being a slave make humans sad and scared, and you cant work well in a bad mood. To do such great machines they needed to be treated well, to be in good spirits! otherwise, humans cant focus, its like running in deep mud, even when you are given an order, you cannot run until you find solid ground.

Urok wanted shiny vehicles of war so much that he agreed to let the humans be safe and to live well, with the old local administration doing the boring work of dealing with salaries and such, so long as the war machines and weapons kept coming.

This is why these Hot-Rod Marrauders have such fancy and clean equipement instead of the usual junk

As a bonus, these Marauders constant contact with human culture influence them to pick up aspects of human life that make them even more distict from other Orks. ( like wearing uniforms, army medals and prayer scrolls)

As a final fun fact, the Ork misunderstood the word "civilian" not as "citizen" but like any word finishing in "-ans" that is the name of a population (like martian or european) and deduced that P-16-X A.1 is actually "Planet Seville", where "Sevillians" live. Seville as therefore been the planet's name ever since.
