3D model description

Sliding covers for wall outlets with enough space for slim plugs to be plugged in and have their cords come out the bottom.

Designed this to make it harder for my toddler to pull plugs out of outlets, and also harder to touch any exposed prongs if the plug does get partially pulled out. The dovetail groove is tight enough to make it non-trivial to remove, but the friction-fit probably wouldn't stop a determined kid from figuring out how to remove it. My kid is more interested in hitting it with stuff than taking it off, so it works well for me.

Provided STL files are made to fit the ~70mm x 112mm outlet covers I have, and provide 34mm of clearance between the wall and plug(s). Including the F3D file so you can customize it to match whatever size wall plates and plugs you have. Relevant dimensions are documented and can be customized in the User Parameters.

Rotate wall.stl 90 degrees so it prints flat on the bed. Rotate cover.stl 180 degrees so the open end is up.

Remove the wall plate and position the wall.stl part behind it as show in the pictures. Replace and screw in the wall plate as normal. This should anchor the wall.stl piece solidly against the wall with minimal wiggle-room. The cover.stl piece should then slide in with a little force (make sure you line up all four dovetails). You can also install the cover upside-down if you need the opening on the top instead of the bottom.
