1/200 Bismarck/Tirpitz Deck Crane

Boat deck cranes as used on German Kreigsmarine Bismarck class ships.

While being of the same type, Bismarck's cranes were located on the main deck while Tirpitz's cranes were mounted on the hangar deck inboard of the mid ship anti-aircraft gun position. This was altered after it was discovered that the Bismarcks position interfered with the field of fire of the weapon.

This model is well detailed and made of small individual parts to allow a better representation using thread for the cranes cables. It is not overly taxing to build but the installation of cables is a bit fiddly :).

Clean all holes with a 0.6mm drill and use heat drawn PLA filament to use as "axles" for the pulleys/fixtures.

This model is part of my 1/200 scale model Tirpitz collection.
