3D model description

https://youtu.be/Hcrip0VxriE

My father was a butcher and he cutt off the tendon inserts of his finger, there is no aparent quirurgic solution, and worst, his hand will retract and loose mobility with time.
I found no prostetic gadget that can help with that, so I decided to make one.

The piece is a mechanical wristbant that extends a finger of your choice and maintain the tension for long periods of time has comfortably has can be, to wear while watching TV or relax time.

It may also be usefull for artritis or some other conditions, it has various posible positions so it can be used on any finger.

Adjust the scale of the finger piece if the user have bigger or smaller fingers, the provided one was 22mm wide.

Materials needed:

A 3d printer (dhu..)

Mi prototype was made mainly from PLA, except the finger and base wrist piece that I made it from soft TPU to add comfort, (that's why the finger piece has an insert to put a non flexible material, you don't need that if you print it in PLA). You can print all in PLA, but if may not be as comfy.

A wristband, 5,3cm wide maximum, I used a cheap 1 buck wristbant with strap from Aliexpress.

A cutted soft math for more comfort attached with hotglue to the below part in contact with the hand.

flexible cord. You can put any type of cord, but better to use a flexible one, your medical thing will be of no use if the final user found it unconfortable.

A small rubberband to actionate mechanism.

9 to 18 mm wide spring cutted really short, (mine was cutted off of the slide of an old crappy airsoft spring pistol) press to release just 1 grade of the cog to better adjust tension, again, for comfort purposes.

4 bolts and nuts, M4 standard I think...

This is a pretty personal project not intended to share, so I made it with the materials I have on the moment, feel free to use it however you want, but if you dare to charge money for it, I will turn into a spider and lay eggs on your bed pillow.

Pretty much anything, the pieces that need support are indicated on the filename.
