3D model description

This is a chamber 1 media filter basket for the Fluval Spec aquarium. It's customizable, but the models featured in the cover image are included. They definitely fit the 2.6 gallon version and probably fit the 5 gallon version too because I think they have the same size of chambers.

The dividers for the compartments are to be printed separately and inserted into the slots on the basket. The baskets have three walls, but the dividers can be printed with a fourth wall as shown by the orange dividers in the cover image. These would be useful for containing loose media like biofilter rocks.

The cover image shows one of the dividers being inserted into the longer basket and a walled divider laying beside the basket ready to be inserted into the basket where the transparent divider is.

One of the included models should be adequate for most people's needs, but if you're not happy with either one, you can easily create your own customized model by setting some simple parameters with sliders. It's fully customizable and the third image shows a screenshot with all the parameters that can be adjusted. Note that I also included the 118 mm walled divider shown in the photos, which is being used in a saltwater aquarium to contain a large amount of biorocks.

###Running the Customizer###

Click the Customize button to create your own model on Thingiverse.

Note that Thingiverse hadn't run their customizer queue from Jul 10, 2020 to Aug 4, 2022 and may stop running it at any time again. So if they don't process your customized job, you will have to install and run OpenSCAD (free software) on your own computer to process the code to create your own customized models. See DrLex's instructions linked below for further details.
