3D model description

These wheels was designed with few goals in mind.
1. To reduce costs on wheels.
2. To maximize the capability of customization both with faceplate style and wheel widths.
3. Easy printability without support in slicer software.

There are two types of designs in this pack, Alps and Blanc.
1. Alps is designed to utilize standard threaded aluminum tubes for best strength, reusability and easy width adjustment.
2. Blanc is a quick and easy choice thanks to the one piece design of the backplate which you only need some M3 screws to finish the assembly. But this design is highly dependable on layer adhiesion of your filament so if you don't have that dialed the backplate might break easier.

Minimal inner diameter of Alps is 44mm, Blanc is 43mm. They both accepts 1.9 and 2.2 spec of VP style wheel weights.

Alps offers a default width of 20mm. If you want to customize the width on Alps, you can simply scale the thickness of the ring in slicer. For example, you want it to be 25mm and you already have threaded aluminum tubes in this length, you should scale the thickness of ring to 25-1.5=23.5mm. For other width just scale the ring thickness to L-1.5, which leaves 0.75mm gap on each side by default and it will fit most tires. Also you can fine tune the gaps to fit special tires, too. Blanc offers 20, 22, 24mm widths.

Both designs offer a plain faceplate for you to tinker with in slicer software which could give you many options for the patterns on the outside. Also I included different height hubs for mock up purpose. You can install them to see what size hubs work the best on your rig but they are not designed to withstand the abuse on a real crawler course. It is ideal to use VP style standard metal hubs. 2mm hub spacer is for fine tuning the track width and of course you can scale the thickness in slicer software if you want.

Note:
These wheels are light weight which is a good thing but since they are 3D printed, they will not outperform those expensive high quality CNC machined metal wheels. But you can always print and bring few backups for quick field repair at ease. After a few test runs with friends's and my rigs and many revisions they turned out to be quite promising in reliability in most cases.
