Features

  • Latches keep the lid secure.
  • Designed specifically for 3d printing:
    • Beefy hinge and latches maximize layer bonding and strength.
    • No support needed, all overhangs are 45 degrees.
    • Wall thicknesses optimized to print quickly, with enough rigidity for light-duty purposes.

Print Suggestions

The below are suggested print parameters. Other parameters will also work, but these are a good starting point.

  • Enable Arachne perimeter generator!
  • After printing, use a piece of filament as the hinge pin. Insert it as far as it will go, it should slide in freely at the beginning, but friction fit snugly at the very end.
  • Line width: 0.4mm
  • Layer height: 0.2mm
  • Infill: 15% gyroid
  • (Optional) first layer line width: 0.8mm
    • You can do this with 0.4mm nozzle with no modifications! This significantly helps with first layer adhesion.
  • Material: any will work. PLA, PETG, ABS, and others all work well. High-warp materials will require an enclosed print chamber.

  • Add ~300 new sizes, including:
    • Boxes that are wider than they are long (portrait).
    • Add 15mm high boxes.
  • Increase flange height to provide better overlap, helpful for very large sizes.
  • Increase flange thickness so that it prints with two perimeters for better layer-adhesion.
  • Limit the latch's maximum z-height to ~10mm. Prior, the latch always matched the z-height of the lid, but this is a waste of material.
