3D model description

I built a full size Lotus Seven inspired bed for my 4 years old son who loves Lotus et Caterham.

It's designed to be screwed onto a very basic and inexpensive IKEA TARVA Full Size bed. It might work with the IKEA NEIDEN full size as well but I have not checked.

The entire kit to print is made of 40 parts if you want to make both left and right sides.

Shall you decide to push the bed in the corner of the bedroom as I did, you only need to print one side which is only 23 pieces.

Each piece has been designed to be printed on one of the 400x400x400 printers out there (Kobra Max, Creality CR-6 Max, CR-10 etc) but you could split the parts further if you don't have one of these machines.

The assembly is pretty simple and require a small amount of glue if you want to make everything sturdy and strong (essentially childproof). I used Gorilla Glue. Each parts has multiple 12mm OD holes to add printed pegs so everything line up nicely when you assemble all the parts.

Each assembly has recessed holes designed to fasten everything to the wooden bed frame with simple screws of your choice, no glue or any modification of the IKEA bed frame is needed.

The headlights are held on and with an 10mm square aluminum profile.

As it was designed for my young son, I tried to make everything as childproof and smooth as possible (no sharp corners in the exposed areas).

No need for paint if you print with different colors filaments.

3D printing settings

Designed to be printed on the larger FDM printers out there (Kobra Max, Creality CR6 Max, CR10 etc.) but could be split further to accommodate smaller printers.

I personally printed at 2.2mm wall thickness and 5% infill.
