3D model description

Adjustable Seidenstrasse Rohrpost Capsule

I made an adjustable Rohrpost-Capsule for the CCC-Camp 2015 and upcoming CCC-Congresses for use with the Seidenstrasse-RohrpostSystem.

The Capsule is adjustable within the scad-file, but not fully parametric due to lack of time remaining to the Camp.

Main Features of this Capsule are:

- Thiner middle area for better movment in tight curves.

- Integrated and adjustable holes for LED-stripes and cableties to secure them.

- the "bulky" area on both sides sould be the right size to add velcro on the outside.

- sliding rails with an endstop to the bottom to insertplates out of plastic, wood or metal, e.G. to mount your favourite electronics to it (the "default" adruino-pcb-width matches exactly between the rails, even thou this is archieved by accident [uno, leonardo, ethernet duemilanove and mega 2560 are fitting in definitely, even 2 boards at the same time] the Rails have been originally desinged to house a raspberry PI, but there was not enought space in the middle of the capsule)

- screwable design

The STLs I provide have slightly more than 200mm (long version) and 160mm (small version), but you can adjust them for your needs. Remixes are very welcome.

For more Information of the Seidenstrasse-System visit https://events.ccc.de/camp/2015/wiki/Village:Seidenstrasse

See you at the Camp!

edit: overall weight including LEDs is about 150 gramms.

3D printing settings

important VARS in the scad:

h_overall=200; //overall height of the capsule including top, for some reason the final capsule gets slightly higher (5mm or so)

mt=3; // thickness of the Material, especially the walls

led_pos_t=0; // 3 predefined positions for led-stripes, set to "1" where you want to have some

cable_holes=1; // 1=yes, 0=no, Holes for cables, does only apply when led_pos_$N is set

ziptie_holes=1; // 1=yes, 0=no, Holes for zipties, does only apply when led_pos_$N is set

insert=1; //1=yes, 0=no, 2 pairs of sliding rails with an offset from the center.

Cam-Hole-Vars for the Top are already in the SCAD, but not yet implemented, feel free to do this.

I had a 0.35-Nozzle attached to my Printer, so estimated Printing time was about 24 hours, but with a .5 nozzle this would be far less. Prints well on delta-printers ;-)
