3D model description

This is my XL Arboreal tarantula enclosure. I designed this as a way for hobbyists to save money by building their own, quality glass enclosures for their animals after seeing the price of commercially available ones. You can download these 3D print files and build your own with the materials in the description below (also in the instructions, which are included in the download.)

This arboreal design (can also be assembled as a fossorial enclosure), is made using the following materials:
* 2 1/2 sheets of 12x36", (OR 5 12x18" sheets) of glass from the hardware store (must be 3/32" thick)
* 1" and 1 1/4" flooring nails (link in instructions)
* 100% silicone sealant, I recommend using Aqueon or Selsil
* The 3D printed frame parts from this download

The dimensions of the assembled glass pieces are 12L" x 12W" x 18H" and the tank has a vented double front door and a second vent and door at the top for proper airflow. In order to print these files you will need a 220x220mm (or larger) build plate on your printer.

With proper application of the silicone, these tanks will be watertight up to the door vent, and due to the way the door works, it can be easily cut to a different size if you prefer something different.

Step by step instructions ARE included in the download, along with lots of helpful images and a link to the nails (they can be tricky to find and the size is rather specific).

3D printing settings

Whatever works best for your machine. Everything should be pre-oriented for best printing results and most if not all parts should print without supports. These files are for FDM printing and will not work with resin.
