3D model description

This guide details creating a replacement Exo Terra lid using 3D printing and a glass/plexiglass panel.

----- Required Materials -----

Slicing software (PrusaSlicer or Cura recommended)
PLA Filament for printing the lid frame
Glass or plexiglass panel (pre-cut sizes linked below)

----- Printing Instructions -----

Download the 3D model
Slice the model: Import the model into your slicer software and prepare it for printing.
Set filament change: Before the ledge above the opening is printed, add a filament change layer. This allows inserting the glass/plexiglass panel.
Print the lid: Start printing, and when prompted, insert the glass/plexiglass panel during the filament change.

----- Glass/Plexiglass Options -----

Cutting your own panel: If comfortable, find suitable glass/plexiglass and cut it to the required dimensions.
8x8: Glass/Plexiglass size 5x7 Inches
12x12: Glass/Plexiglass size 8x10 inches
18x18: Glass/Plexiglass size 12x16 inches

Pre-cut panels: Purchase pre-cut panels for convenience. Here are some links:

Additional Notes:

The 8x8 lid should be printable on most printers, but the 18x18 requires a larger print bed.
The provided instructions used an Anycubic Kobra Max 2 printer. Adjustments may be needed for other models.
Remember: Safety first! Wear gloves and protective eyewear when handling glass/plexiglass.

Enjoy your custom Exo Terra lid!
