3D model description

The story begins with my brother's car key no longer working.

These are the first Phase 2 306s from 1997 with infrared control between the key and the dome light.

After investigation the centralization works and the printed circuit of the key is out of order.

So we find an identical old key on Ebay, but we can't match it to the car...

Time to find the car's wiring diagrams on the Internet to understand how it works;

It turns out that to open or close, a ground is sent via the ceiling light receiver into one wire or the other of the socket.

The same ceiling light also features a 12V direct battery connection.

An idea then emerges, why not mount a simple gate switch with double relay behind the ceiling light?

Plus it's radio frequency, so there's no need to aim, and the range is improved :-)

One call to Amazon later and the solution works like a charm.

There's still one problem, however: the ugly remote control hanging around on the key ring....

So I warmed up on Fusion to model a custom key integrating:

- The smallest AliExpress remote control possible

- The original key

- Immobilizer

- 2 screws M2x10

- 2 nuts M2

This leads to the attached design (after much testing)

And if it's going to be clean, I've printed a pretty custom box to send it all by post :-D
