Description

UPDATE: For anyone with Ledfyr lights from IKEA there is a great remix on printables for a new adaptor to fit those lights that you can find here - Rose Lights Adapter for Ledfyr LED lights by starfetcher | Download free STL model | Printables.com

Clip on rose fairy light covers

Simple way to add some “wow” to your existing room lighting - and also makes your fairy lights look good both during the day and at night!

Model is in two parts - a simple clip that slips on over the fairy light wire, and then clips into the back of the rose “bulb” - fully secure once clipped in.

Tested in a variety of colours and materials and worked well with 1 wall and no infill. Lighter colours work better.  You don't need a translucent filament - still get good lighting through PLA at 1 wall thickness
Materials pictured are (all bambu labs):

  • PLA White
  • PLA Red
  • Sparkle PLA gold
  • Transparent PETG blue

My recommendation would be to print with only 1 wall to let more light through.

Bulbs are intricate and require support. Print profile uploaded is at 110% scale (works slightly better) and includes 1 bulb and 1 clip - tested multiple times and works well on my p1p. If you are producing many clone the parts accordingly.

Designed to fit my fairy lights/christmas tree lights (which I believe are relatively standard 25mm long 15mm diameter at widest point). Model should work fine scaling to fit different lights as long as you scale light and clip at the same time. Some of the model walls will likely become too small at below 90% scale.

Designed from a 3d scan of a rose I took, and then hollowed out in fusion 360

Hope you enjoy! As always all feedback welcome. Let me know if you have different sized fairy lights and I can try and make some variants to accommodate. If popular I may scan some more flowers to add a variety of bulbs

Update:
Tested in two new colours - Bambu PLA yellow and orange.  I like how the yellow came out
Also uploaded photos of completed full fairy light string :)
