3D model description

What is this? This is the Mk II version of a surface skimmer that attaches to the outlet of a JUWEL Bioflow Filter M. What problem does it solve? It removes film on surface by mixing it with the water outlet of the filter. The working principle is the same as for the AQUARIO NEO Skimmer but tailor-made for the JUWEL Bioflow Filter M. What is new in Mk II?

  1. Added more buoyancy to the floater and extended the throat (keeps it better in place and less sensitive to surface movements).
  2. Added the option of a protective mesh on the inlet floater.
  3. Added the option of a collar on the outlet pipe making it easier and more stable to fit it square to the filter wall.
  4. Added two extra Bernoulli pipes for additional options of length.
  5. Added a standalone 45 degrees exit pipe to alter the exit flow from the filter.

Does it work? Yes I use it myself in my JUWEL Lido 120. It came with the JUWEL Bioflow Filter M. I designed the skimmer based on this filter. I don’t know if the outlet size is the same on the L and XL sizes but if it is then the skimmer should fit them too.

The skimmer consists of three parts, the Inlet Floater, an Outlet Pipe and a Bernoulli Pipe. There are two different options for inlet floater and outlet pipe. A floater with or without a protective mesh (to prevent plant parts and scrimps to get stuck) and a pipe with or without a collar. The collar is a way to position and stabilize the pipe square to the filter wall (the original rubber grommet fits inside the collar).

I have moved my filter to the left side of the tank and I am not sure it is on original height. I therefor added five Bernoulli Pipes of different heights (XS, S, M, L XL). Use the one that fits your surface level. I also added a 45 degrees exit pipe that can be added to the end of the chosen outlet pipe (or use the additional pipes I made for the JUWEL Bioflow Filter M, mix and match based on your needs).
