3D model description

The Second 40' & 65' N Scale Ore Gondola for Micro-Trains Couplers! Also different ore loads and printed "wheels" to use as a static model or a kid's toy.

This was a design I made based on a pair of gondolas I saw here in Amsterdam at the Westpoort Freight Yard. I took some pictures and decided to model the pair of them. This is the second & the first is also listed as a free introduction, so grab that as well! They are similar but different and came make a very interesting construct quickly. I made a series of coal loads and printed "wheels" and a NW2 Locomotive to use as a static model or as a kid's toy. It prints up side down and I use aligned supports to keep the "bottom" clean. I made a small outer brim for one layer that helps keep the car top stuck to the bed. The loads are "coal" or other loose product with more than 30 different versions of both the 40' & 65'. Included is a NW2 Locomotive since every train needs an engine. Here's a short video about the gondolas: https://youtu.be/P2jkav7OUQ4

3D printing settings

These are basic prints, but I do use adaptive layers between 0.10 and 0.16mm with a 200% 1st layer and only 90% first layer width. Now using outside-in printing order as well to improve the outer shape and accuracy.

The loads come out much better with the adaptive layers as curved surfaces are improved the most from adaptive layers.

I make a small one layer brim that helps bed adhesion but doesn't leave much mark on the parts as they mostly pull free, maybe with a bit of creasing first. Parts marked SUP include my brim.
