3D model description

This is a 50mm EDF unit designed for 20mm inrunner motors. I have tested it up to 500W where it produces about 780-800g of static thrust on a test stand with a radiussed inlet let.

The shroud should be a close fit in models designed for the QX-50 50mm EDF unit, but it should be a good replacement for any of the Chinese 50mm EDF units. Unlike those, it will not choke when you close the exhaust down to 90% FSA, so you can get some real performance out of it.

Due to the heat generated by the motor, it really needs to be printed in a high temp material such as ABS or ASA.

I used a TP Power 2020-12D (4720kV) motor with a shaft adapter from Hobby King.
4S 1600mAh lipos with that motor draws about 450W.

3D printing settings

These parts should be printed in ABS or ASA or something that can take the heat of the motor. Load the Cura prject files to get all of the settings but the most important ones are temp and speed:

print temp = 250-265 (ASA prints hotter than ABS)
print speed = 30
infill =100%
