Description

This is a soup can dispenser that will allow you to hold up to 12 soup cans and keep your inventory rotated, so you are always grabbing the oldest one first! Based on the feedback and requests that I have received from my popular Vegetable Can Dispenser, I designed a similar dispenser for standard sized soup cans.

UPDATE 4/27/2024: Added the STL files for download.

UPDATE 3/31/2024: Quick updates to change the print profile names to make them easier to navigate (no changes to the files themselves). Also added a generic “Soup” label.

UPDATE 3/8/2024: In honor of the limited-edition release of Campbell's Grilled Cheese & Tomato, I just HAD to produce a label and have a little fun with it. Some people may swear off soup altogether, but some may want to stock up! The verdict is still out for me. The label is multi-colored if you have an AMS, but of course, you can change the colors to anything you want!

-I made this Soup Can Dispenser stackable, using pins to connect two of them together. Fit 24 cans of soup and keep your stock rotated and organized.

-When stacked, two of these Soup Can Dispensers are the same dimensions (400mm deep x 350mm tall) as my popular Vegetable Can Dispenser.

-There are labels included for 12 of the most popular soups, according to sales (Campbell's). Label can easily be changed simply by sliding one out and sliding another one in. Labels are embossed so they can be easily painted. If you have an AMS, the letters and outer rims are separate objects so you can easily print in any color you wish.

Printing Information

The side pieces (front & rear) snap together very tightly, so I recommend snapping these pieces together BEFORE attaching the right side to the left side. It will be unlikely that you will be able to take them apart without damaging them after you have snapped them together.

-Clip fasteners clip the side components together (on Front Left plate)

-The sides snap together very tightly, so fasteners may not be needed, but included just in case

-Textured plate gives a nice, finished look (optional)

-Can be printed in any color to match your decor

Finishing Information

-Gave it stability using 9 M3x10 screws (pre-threaded but a small round file on the hole opening can help start the screws)

-I used these: Amazon.com: 440 Pcs M3 Small Metric Screws with Nuts, Hex Socket Head Cap and Nut Assortment Kits, Alloy Steel Replacement Machine Fastener Screws and Bolts Nuts (Black) : Industrial & Scientific

-Glue is not used on the clip fasteners, but can be if you wish

-I made 12 labels for popular cans of this size. They have separate print profiles and can be printed in any color you wish. If you don't have an AMS, the letters are embossed for easy painting.

This is arguably one of the most useful designs I have printed from MakerWorld. I was excited to print and get the first one put together right away. The design is well thought out and very sturdy. The joints for the various pieces to hold together are fantastic. I took the advise of screwing them together but I don't know if it is truly needed even without glue The fit is perfect. The clip fasteners are extra security even. Truly well thought out and designed. Can watch the video of our print on YouTube here https://youtu.be/1duY1LGANb8 Thank you cbaileyhp!!

Soup Can Dispenser - All Components
Just wish there was an A1 mini profile so I can fit full size cans, I've tried making adjustments to the profile but I'm not good enough to get the model right :( I have a lot of cans I'd love to be able to organise.

Hi Jade, There are constraints formatting this to the print plate size of the A1 mini due to the connection points interfering with the flow of the cans down the ramp. I have had a few requests for this, and it is on my agenda to look into, but I do this as a hobby, so I am not sure of the timeframe. I am sorry this only warranted a 4 star due to size. Happy printing!

any chance of making one that could fit a can that is 110mm tall with a 75mm diameter? I was going to reprint another to see if it would work without pushing the pegs all the way in, but i forgot about checking the diameter. (broke the first one when i tried to release the pegs back out)

Disregard. I had another look at your other design and realised I could just print the bottom parts and have it the same overall height as this one. Thanks. Fits well and looks good!

I am planning on printing a few more! Do you have any recommendations on how I could scale this up to fit the chunky soup cans?

I am not quite sure of the dimensions on the chunky soup cans, but I have a vegetable can dispenser posted here too. That one fits larger diameter cans.

Can you make a version compatible with the A1 mini?

Hello, what does it take to be compatible? Is it a size issue? I am not familiar with the mini. Please let me know. thanks!

Hi, yep it's a size issue. I'm new to printing and don't have the skills myself yet to make it work for my printer. I was hoping you could potentially break it down into more pieces that connect. Scaling the pieces down (uniformly) to fit on the A1 Mini print bed only allows me to store cans the size of drink mixer cans. I could potentially scale it down in one axis so I can get the correct width for the cans, but then I would be compensating with how many cans I can store and/or creating issues with the "roll" system onto the lower level as I'm reducing the length of the dispenser.

To add further detail, as shown in the photo attached, each piece maxes out the build plate and everything is scaled down to 88%.

Printed 5 boxes so far and every print was perfect. Nice tight and secure fits on all parts.

I haven’t heard of any issues with them fitting. they are tight and may require a rubber mallet, but no special settings were required. What material? I have done both PLA and PLA+ with ventilation to cool them down.

The clips are too flimsy, they break as soon as you put them on. Other then that it is perfect.
