Some time ago i printed the great pistachio bowl from “Place and Play 3D” because my wife loves to eat sunflower seeds.

I had some ideas how i would improve the bowl so i started to design my own with the basic design of the original. Main point was less jam of the seeds in the bowl as sunflower seeds love to get stuck even more than pistachios.

While designing i had more and more ideas. So heres the result of several iterations.

• raised the inner bowl to reduce jam
• added 2 more positions for the waste hole (every 120 degree)
• made the ramp in the bowl thinner at the top to not block entrance
• the holders for the inner bowl not starting at the bowl bottom to save more space for seeds
• added a little latch to throw waste into the whole more easily
• inner bowl snaps softly into the correct positions
• made the inner bowl a bit tighter fit
• raised the inner bowl just a bit to better fit a complete bag of sunflower seeds
• reduced material to the lid
• reduced print time even with 0.2 resolution of the base
