Description

This model is currently in early access for supporters. It will become available for free for all on January 21st, 2024.

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a four-engine heavy bomber. It was introduced in 1944 to fill the United State's need for a high-altitude bomber capable of carrying a larger payload than the B-17 and having a larger operational range. The Superfortress featured several design aspects that made it so advanced for its time. It had a fully pressurized cabin, a computer-controlled fire-control system that reduced the crew requirements, and four remote-controlled turrets. The B-29 was also the airframe used to drop the first atomic bomb (Little Boy) on August 6th, 1945. The aircraft in question was the B-29-45-MO "Enola Gay," named after the pilot's mother. The Enola Gay had its turrets removed and its bomb bay modified to hold the Little Boy.

This model was suggested by Jannik and voted on by club Members.

For best results, print at 0.20mm layer height and %100 infill. Anything else and the kit card may not fit together correctly. Both Sprue and Sprue-less models are included along with the individual parts. This kit card requires no glue.

Included are also parts for the landing gear. However, I could not get the CG right, so it is too tail-heavy and will not sit properly.
