Scyla Bloodclaw

After leading the massacre at Barranco Negro, where he dyed the meandering chasm with the red blood of the rat-men, Scyla was rewarded with enormous brute strength and huge arms, but it spelled the beginning of the end for Scyla. Thanking the God of Blood for this blessing, Scyla undertook a series of raids against the Arabs, and engaged the fleet of war dhows of the plenipotentiary Ibn Dhul, personally reducing the fleet's flagship to splinters. This time his bravery was rewarded with a serpent's tail ending in a great jaw while his head grew and elongated like that of a monster. Scyla also mercilessly slaughtered a delegation of Chaos Dwarves sent to trade with his tribe, this time gaining a profusion of horn-like plates all over his body. His limbs lost their definite human form, becoming long, hairy limbs like those of a gorilla. Soon he could no longer wield his sword and began to walk on all fours like a beast. After Scyla subdued the troglodyte Gargantuans inhabiting Low Mountain, the God of Blood rewarded his Paladin with the mind of a ferocious beast. That very night, his mind could take it no more and Scyla's body convulsed out of control, losing itself in the depths of a drooling abomination: he had become a Chaos Spawn.

From that day on, Scyla Anfingrirnm was known as the Blood God's Claw. Scyla's host of warriors took pity on him and he continues to fight alongside his old comrades-in-arms, but they now regard him as a Mastiff and not a Paladin, though some honored him in his new form and worshipped him as a living god. Subsequently, his trusted lieutenant, Erlock the One-Eyed, was chosen as Paladin of the blood god, and Erlock placed around Scyla's misshapen head the mighty Bronze Necklace of Blood. When Erlock led his warriors into battle, he always took Scyla with him, pulling the hideous beast as if it were a pet.

Although Scyla had become a savage beast, he still enjoyed the favor of his god and his only desire is to kill and maim in the name of the Blood God, so it is likely that his fate was a violent death. Some believe he died at the Battle of the Gates of Kislev, the titanic battle that ended the Great War against Chaos. So they say, but there continue to be rumors of his bloody exploits.
