Description

Summary

I don't want to bore anyone with the long story of how we got here but basically the Scout Mark I existed 10 years ago but was not practical due to 3D printing not easily accessible and electronics not advanced enough yet. Long story short there are some learnings that were incorporated into this design through many iterations

So the Scout II is in a different category of Whoop style drone. The idea is to create a whoop-sized drone that would be robust enough to carry "in a bag" and be plug and play( more on this later).

The part list for this drone is as follows

1) BETAFPV F4 1-2S AIO Brushless Flight Controller w/ Integrated 25mW VTX (No Rx)
2) Happymodel Speki+ Micro 2.4GHz Receiver - DSM2/DSMX/SRXL
3) BETAFPV 1102 13500KV Brushless Motors (4pcs)
4) TBS 40mm Micro Brushless 4-Blade Props (1.5mm Shaft - Black)
5) BETAFPV BT2.0 300mAh 1S 30C HV Battery (8pcs)
6) Caddx Turbo EOS2 V2 1200TVL Micro FPV Camera - (NTSC - 16:9)

Frame Details

  • 110mm with prop protector
  • 65mm from Motor to Motor
  • 16mm Height
  • 20g weight( depending on print settings and material)
  • Weather Resistant

The Frame design has a dedicated place for the battery bay and the BT2.0 connector can get stuck into the frame. this allows the user to simply slide the battery in and it's plugged in. No wires, no exposed electronics, semi weatherproof for outside use.

This is a work in progress and with enough interest, ill be releasing new updates and eventually want to redesign the electronics to make it autonomous at this size with 5-8 minute flight times.

Ill post more photos and videos once my electronics arrive ( covid and xmas delays )

Feedback is welcome.

NOTE: you print this out at your own risk, the mounting system was designed for the listed components but most standard whoop part will fit.
