Description

This is a simple to print and assemble heart vase. The heart forms the base and the tubes hold the flowers.

Provision has been made in the design for test tubes, which will fit into the heart vase. You will need to measure and make sure your test tubes fit.

Printing

The is as much art as it is functional. To that end, print the heart in one colour and the tubes in another. I have used a dark red (eSun Fire Engine Red PLA) for the heart and used a fuzzy skin for the outside. This hides any layer lines and makes the whole thing look really nice, it looks and feels better in real life than in the images.

The tubes were printed in other PLA. PETG can be used if you can print watertight, otherwise use a test tube.

  • Layer height: 0.2/0.3mm
  • Nozzle width: 0.4mm
  • Fuzzy skin: 0.15 & 0.4mm
  • Bed adhesion: skirt
  • Support: none

Parts:

1 x Heart vase
1 x Tube

The heart vase prints on its side, and the tube prints vertically, with the base on the print bed.

Note: The slicer will warn you about stability of the tubes, but I had no problem on an Ender 3 S1 making them with only a skirt. Print them with the base to the printer bed, so they can grow upwards.

If you use fuzzy skin, be aware, that it will put fuzzy skin into the holes for the tubes, so keep the fuzzy small.

Assembly

Slide the tube into the heart vase and you have a fully assembled vase. The parts are octagons, so they will only fit in aligned.

Test tubes will fit in, you should have no trouble with that if you want a watertight and transparent flower holder.

Either way, ideal for dried, printed or artificial flowers.

Modification

There isn't much you can do other than scale it.

If you find any issues, please let me know and I will make any necessary updates.

If you want only a shallow octagonal cup or container, stop the print at a predefined height, say 10mm and you get a nice container.
